On my last trip I was in the Amacayacu National Park. When I
was there, the first thing that struck me was the wildlife. I had to get on a boat to get to the park
because by land was impossible; too many plants. This park is located in the Amazons, opened
in 1975 and is the only area of the park system that protects the flooded
forest of the Amazon River so it is a so humid place.
I was watching birds when it began to rain and we had to
take shelter with some natives already knew the guides. At sunset, we find a
lion tamarin, was small and my brother almost killed by his steps accidentally;
the guides said to me that this animal was the world's smallest primate and
lived in this park with the world's biggest fish of freshwater, pirarucu, or
something.
I could not see pink dolphins, but I could go through the
canopy bridge, a suspension bridge of 60 meters located between the treetops at
30 meters high; The place gave me so much vertigo that i didn't want back.
Still, I learned a lot and things that I never knew about nature, which became
my best friend in this experience. I went to Tarapoto Lakes and i almost fell,
but ... I do not know what I was thinking to go to Amazon and do not know how
to swim.
I would like to return, but with less hot clothes, however,
the entry is not the most accessible because we could not get a tour guide but
as an ecotourism; the park is closed for tourist, but not for ecotourism. Also,
I'd return for this variety of fauna and flora. I want to repeat that
experience.
